A person with conscientiousness personality factors is characterized by high level of thoughtfulness with goal-oriented behaviors and good impulse control. He or she likes finishing off important matters on the spot, spends time planning, have work in schedules and pay attention to detail. A person low on this factor dislikes schedules and structures, have a tendency of not putting back things where they belong and doesnt care about many things. As much as globalization has increased the size of market for many multinationals it has brought with it many challenges posed by different consumer behaviors across various market segments across the world and legal differences among other challenges. I am also good in teamwork based on the outcome of a questionnaire that I filled online, with this skill I will be able to organize the team working under me as the global manager to work as team as opposed to working on individualized objective. There is an advantage when a team is working on collective objective rather than individualized objectives. Teamwork leads to achieving objectives that would otherwise not be achieved if everyone was working on his or her own way. It also saves and is known to lead to quality work due to multiple numbers of brains working on the same or similar objectives. On the same online platform my weakness was communication, I will need to work on this important skill because it has a lot of bearing in the manner my team will perform if I am their global manager. Therefore, my ability to work on challenges that are abstract in nature will have a positively my impact my problem-solving skills as a global manager. Having a wide range of interests is another factor in my personality that will positively impact my global managerial skills. This is especially so because, as a global manger Ill need to have a wide range of interests given the expanded nature of market and business environment. I will be dealing with a multinational company that has a very diverse workforce with diverse view or opinions on various business issues. I will need to listen to each one of them and try to understand the concept behind what they say so that each employee or person working under my leadership can feel motivated and counted at work which in turn boosts his or her performance and my success as a global manager. Agreeableness personality will also compliment extraversion personality in the sense that caring about others and feeling empathy to them reinforces tendency to like meeting new people. Conscientiousness on the other hand will impact global management skills in a number of positive ways. Paying attention to detail will ensure the global manager develops sound judgment skills on various business issues and decision-making process that will see his performance top. Being a schedule person develops time management skills a crucial component of any global manager. Neuroticism personality will mostly have negative impacts on the capabilities of a global manager. Top among these is tendency to get upset easily, this will affect his or her interrelationship with the members of the team working under him or her, which in turn affects performance at work or meeting organizational objectives. Skills Development Plan Self Regulation As I am weak in self regulation based on the outcome of the emotional intelligence I undertook, I will need to start working on this skill in order to enable me carry out the functions of the global manager in an effective manner in future. I will start by increasing my circle of friends to ensure it comprises as diverse group of people as possible. This will enable me gauged my self better when determining whether I have improved on this skill or not. Having adequately increased my social circle, I will immediately start engaging in all activities within this group requesting to take the lead role in them. For example, if it is about an academic activity that I am part of then I will volunteer to take the lead role. This will also be extended to social activities that I will be part of. From my leading role, I will be able to test myself facing different situations as the leader of the group. I will try to handle dissenting opinions in the right way, politely and courteously and also ensure I do not over step my mandate as the group leader while I am discharging my duties. To test my progress, I will continually retake the self regulation tests. Where I feel I need assistance, I will seek the services of a professional personal coach to guide my self-regulation skill development plan. Her parents were Otto and Edith Frank. Anne was the second daughter; her sister Margot was three years older. AnneÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s father worked at his familyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s bank. Her mothers job was to take care of everything at home. Margot and Anne were carefree girls and they had many friends in their neighborhood. However, their parents were worried. Adolf Hitler and his party had made the Jews the scapegoat for all of Germanys social and economic problems. The anti-Semitism in the country was growing. At the beginning of 1933, the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP or Nazi party) came to power in Germany. Adolf Hitler, the leader of this party, becom Chancellor. He was responsible for the new government. Before very long, there was discrimination against Jews. Germany changed from a democracy into a dictatorship. AnneÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s parents no longer felt safe. Otto FrankÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s bank was also in financial trouble because of the worldwide economic crisis. Otto and Edith Frank decided to leave Germany. The Frank family went to the Netherlands in the summer of 1933. AnneÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s father had the opportunity to set up a company in Amsterdam that sold Opekta (an ingredient used for making jam). During that period, Anne and Margot stayed with their Grandmother who lived in Aachen, Germany. Their mother commuted to and from Amsterdam trying to find the family a place to live. In their now home in Amsterdam, the Frank Family felt free and safe, until the German Army invaded the Netherlands on May 10, 1940. The Occupation of the Netherlands began on May 15, 1940. The discrimination against the Jews began then as well: Jews couldnt own their own businesses, Jewish children had to go to Jewish schools, all Jews had to wear a yellow star, and countless other restrictions. There were even rumors that the Jews would be packed off to Germany. The rumors that Jews would have to go to Germany, just like thousands of other Jews living in Europe, were true, The Nazis planned to send all the Jews to work camps in Germany. In 14. 06. 1942, Annes 13 birthday, she received a lot of gifts, one of them was a diary from her parents, she on him the letters to her imagination friend- Kitty. Three month after AnneÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s birth- day Margot receives a call-up to Westerbork camp, with the threat that the entire family will be arrested if Margot does not report. The Frank family was frightened from that letter and they decided to do something. So in 9. 7. 1942 Anne and her family (Otto, Edith, and Margot) went to a hiding place in Ottos work building. In the buildingÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Annexe Otto and some of him friends at work (Miep Gies, Elisabeth (Bep) Voskuijl, Johannes Kleimwn, and Victor Kugler) created a place for two families to stay for a while until the end of the war. After a week the van Daan Family (Hermenn, Petronella, and Peter) joined them at the Annexe. The Annexe was split, the Franks in the first floor- Otto, Edith, and Margot in one room and Anne in the second and the van Daans in the second floor Hermenn and Petronella in one room (that also was the dining room and the kitchen), and Peter was in the second room (that also was the way to go up- stairs to the attic). After a while the Nazis started to look for hiding Jews all over Amsterdam, so one of the helpers build a bookcase (that can move) to hide the doorway to the Annexe. The time passed and the seven hiding people decided that they have enough room and food to hide another person, so they asked Miep (another one of their helpers) to fined some one she knows and need a place to hide in. Miep did find a man (44 years old) named Albert Dussel. Albert joined the Annexe in 10. 11. 42 to share Annes room. Wail the eight of them were in the Annexe, downstairs people were working; only the helpers know that there were people in hiding upstairs, so the hiding people had to not move and not toke (if it is necessary, to whisper) all of the work hours. Their helpers brought the hiding people food. At the beginning they had enough food for three meals. But as the time passed they had problems getting food for all eight people. At the last six- five month they had only one glass of porridge for breakfast, a bit of lettuce and brown beans (even rotten) for lunch, and for dinner the same. In 25 on May 1944 Anne wrote to her dairy: Mother says well skip breakfast, eat porridge and bread for lunch and fried potatoes for dinner and, if possible, vegetables or lettuce once or twice a week. Due to these events the government policy brought a change towards the care that was provided for the people. Welfare legislation was developed to make sure that everyone had access to quality of life due to the world war (Spicker, 2012). The idea of the Elizabeth law was based on the plan that the government was in charge on administration and control of poor relief. Elizabeth government realised that they would create some system to support people. Parish was the first basic administrative unit in Britain to take responsibility for the people who were poor and also had control to force people to pay a local tax to assist the poor. People who could not work such as old people and disabled were provided with accommodation in parish houses and also given money called the outdoor relief. However, this caused an impact on the increase of the cost of poor relief. The outdoor relief pay which was given to assist the poor in tough times and by doing this it was regarded as encouraging workers to remain inactive undermining the 19th century principles of thrift and hard work (Frohman, 2008). It was also argued that that the poor law encouraged the growth of poverty (Spicker, 2012). In 1834 a new Poor Law was introduced. People assumed that it was a good idea and they welcomed it thinking that it would lessen the cost of looking after the poor. People thought that beggars were going to be taken off the streets and for those people who were poor they were going to be encouraged to look after themselves. This poor law encouraged people to be independent and to help themselves by making ends meet. The new Poor Law ensured that those poor people who were housed in workhouses were getting some assistants in terms of clothing, food and money .Children were offered schooling when they entered the workhouse. In return for this care, all workhouse paupers would have to work for several hours each day. However, these workhouses were a system of encouraging poor people to work. The new poor law also help children who entered the work house to be educated it also ensure that the less privilege to get house in return. In reaction, the poor law of 1834 introduced a poor relief which imposed the principle of less eligibility. This new system act took a much harsher line towards help for the poor people whereby strict rules and regulations were put in place for people to follow (Harris, 2004). Families were separated and were not allowed to see each other. The Law stated that no healthy person was to be given money or other help from the Poor Law authorities except for people in a workhouse, and the unemployed benefits was to be provided as a last resort. Conditions in the workhouse were deliberately made harsh, in the hope that the poor would move out and seek work elsewhere (Hothersall Bolger, 2010). The new welfare state gradually replaced the 20th century the poor law. During 1906 a liberal government was elected and introduce some reforms.1n 1908 an old age pension came to existence which allow pension to be given to people over 70s, from 1925 pension were paid to men that is over 65 and to women over 60. The national insurance act was passed in 1911 and all employees were made to contribute from their wage and the aim was to build and also for every worker who felt sick was entitled to free treatment were given to every worker that feel sick. The contributions were to help the workers in future in situations when they become ill or out of work. In 1920 the scheme was extended to most people but not all work houses became unnecessary and then poor law was abolished. In 1945 when labour government was elected new services were introduced by the labour government and these included family allowances (Laybourn, 1995) and this created debates regarding the welfare state within current governments. The government introduced the Education Act 1944 which tackled lack of schooling. The 1946 National Health Act was concerned with improving the quality of health among the population. The 1946 National Insurance Act was created to cover all personal risks such as unemployment and illness. The NHS started operating and it provided a service to the population at a low cost. The 1945 Housing 1948 labour government extended the social security and a program of free medical care, Housing, Education and the Welfare of the Children. The National Assistance Act 1948 means- tested for people in lower income below a standard set by government and for unemployed people. The 1948 Children Act was also another important element. After 1948 the key elements of the welfa re state was understood as social security, Health, Housing, Education and welfare of children (Lowe, 2005). In the 1950 the government took over and slashed the help which was given to the poor and the sick. This created the provision of welfare state services to become more problematic and the interventions of the government caused further problems on that time. This then made the distribution of income more imbalanced and although they attempted to make the poor more hardworking and self sufficient it didnt work. The rolling back the state was revolved around the need to cut public spending as a way of reducing impact on public affair. Thatcher (1979-97) promised to reduce taxes and to lower the level of public spending and less state intervention. Thatcher opposed a welfare system and the welfare state began to break down resulted in retreat for housing and pension. The conservative government discouraged individuals and families from relying on the welfare state and promoted business and private enterprise. The Conservative changed the balance of welfare expenditure towards health and social security at the expense of education and housing. Thatcher revolution was less radical and the welfare spending remained stationary between the late (1970). Thatcher stated that welfare spending was weighing down the international competitiveness and also creating a dependency culture which also was supported by the government and acted to cut back the welfare state (Clasen, 2003). The aim for that was to control costs and make the system more open to patients (Propper, et al. 2008). When new labour came into office in 1997 and welfare remained in the top priority. Welfare reform was a new labour agenda which led to a change on the welfare state. Regardless of Conservative critics of the welfare, new labour argued that new welfare policies were needed to improve poverty, inequality, health and education. The main aim of labour was to develop the NHS by rebuilding it and also promote choice for the patients and also free of charge. However, the white paper was published and health reforms were discussed which led to the Health Act (1999). This new policy brought change and encouraged cooperation and partnership between NHS and other care providers and it abolished the internal markets which were introduced by the Conservative government. Labour introduced the Welfare -to-work a policy for employment aiming at helping people to work and support themselves especially young people, single parents and those out of work. Another issue was to tackle the social exclusion of underprivileged people who had no access income and also to social institution. On June 30, 2004, a study was taken of the United States Federal Prisons and 2,131,180 prisoners were detained in federal or state prisons or local jails, an increase of 2.3% from midyear 2003 statistics, and an estimated 486 prison inmates per 100,000 U.S. residents went up from the previous 411 at the end of 1995. Between 1995 and 2001 alone, violent offenders accounted for 63% while drug offenders contributed 15% of the total growth of the state prison population. Even with population disputes aside, this political decision will only further persuade our more enlightened citizens of our government officialsÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ gullibility, to truly believe cement walls and bars will stop gangs and gang-related violence. On an economic prospect, on average each prisoner costs $22,000 per year and the 883,593 prisoners were costing American taxpayers approximately $19.4 billion, not to mention another $61.7 million for the construction of the 1,143 spaces needed. If you are in areas with brush or grass at temperatures above freezing, you are at risk of tick bites.Ã‚ According to the CDC, many different types of ticks located all over the United States carry disease. Tick-borne diseases include but are not limited to: Lyme diseaseÃ¢â‚¬â€a disorder that can cause a wide range of serious symptoms ranging from joint disorders to heart issuesHeartland virusRocky Mountain heartland feverTick-borne relapsing feverTularemia Once you have a tick-borne disease, it can become chronic.
